Rotary Club of Kampala Muyenga Breeze Participates in the 2026 Mega District Blood Donation Drive

The Rotary Club of Kampala Muyenga Breeze proudly joined fellow Rotary clubs across the district in the 2026 Mega District Blood Donation Drive, reaffirming Rotary’s commitment to saving lives and serving communities. The blood donation campaign officially launched the 2026/2027 Rotary Service Year, demonstrating Rotary’s dedication to improving health and supporting communities through meaningful service.

The district-wide initiative was led by the Rotary Club of Muyenga and the Rotary Club of Busaabala, bringing together Rotary and Rotaract clubs, students, healthcare professionals, and members of the public in a united effort to increase the country’s blood supply.

The campaign was a tremendous success, with over 200 units of blood collected. These donations will help provide lifesaving blood to patients requiring emergency treatment, surgeries, maternal healthcare, cancer treatment, and other critical medical services in hospitals across Uganda.

The participation of the Rotary Club of Kampala Muyenga Breeze reflects the club’s continued commitment to Rotary’s motto, Service Above Self, and its dedication to supporting initiatives that improve the health and well-being of communities. Club members actively participated alongside fellow Rotarians and volunteers, encouraging blood donation and promoting awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation.

According to Rotary District leaders, launching the new service year with a blood donation exercise symbolizes Rotary’s mission to create lasting impact through service. The event also marked the beginning of a year-long focus on health, disease prevention, and community service, with clubs across the district expected to implement projects that address critical community needs.

Blood donation remains one of the simplest yet most powerful ways to save lives. A single donation can benefit multiple patients, making every donor a vital part of the healthcare system. The overwhelming response from students, Rotarians, medical professionals, and community members demonstrated the collective power of service and compassion.

The Rotary Club of Kampala Muyenga Breeze extends its sincere appreciation to every blood donor, healthcare professional, volunteer, and partner who contributed to the success of this important initiative. Your generosity has given hope to countless patients and set an inspiring tone for the 2026/2027 Rotary Service Year.

As Rotary continues to champion health, disease prevention, education, environmental sustainability, peacebuilding, and economic development, the club remains committed to creating positive change through impactful community service projects.

Together, we are creating hope, saving lives, and making a lasting difference—one act of service at a time.
