It is estimated that 3,600 – 5,400 children in Uganda are born with or acquire hydrocephalus each year in Uganda based on 2 to 3 / 1,000 births (with 1,800,000 new births per year in Uganda). CURE Uganda is thus currently providing surgery for approximately 20-30% of the estimated annual need level across the country. This partnership has already resulted in sponsoring more than 80 children with Hydrocephalus and Spina bifida to have their life-saving brain surgery at CURE Uganda. This partnership has directly benefitted some of Uganda’s most vulnerable children and their families during their time of greatest need. We shall intensify our sensitization drives to bring awareness of the conditions of Hydrocephalus and Spina bifida hopefully providing relief to families and reducing unnecessary stigma. Awareness of the conditions of Hydrocephalus and Spina bifida hopefully providing relief to families and reducing unnecessary stigma. The club is working on a more
